Ofcourse, there are other variables around course of interest, aspirations post the BSchool and other personal factors. Depends on multiple factors and this is a highly subjective question if you ask me. Still here's a view 1. L, K and I are decent options in that order but not the same league. Which specialization is she interested? TISS would be the next choice.
And so on. Full time vs part time courses - Any day the full time on-campus courses are the one to go. IIMs on the other hand had around - students per year - All colleges have increased their intakes but still ISB plays in the volume game on a higher scale.
I would say it completely depends on the outcome after 2 years or 1 year in case of executive MBA and ISB basically the job you land from the campus and the alumni network. Talking about companies or rather brands as we call them in MBA colleges are common to these top institutes mostly except for a few which are specific to each campus. The advantages top IIM's ABC have over ISB are: Multiple offers are capped don't know the exact number for each but for IIM C it is a maximum of 2 offers per candidate Slightly better brand value in the Indian context Better alumni network due to being established earlier not sure about this since the batch size of ISB is pretty large so maybe they could have played catch up on this Lower initial investment Lesser competition due to smaller batch size Advantages of ISB over top IIM's Better brand value at the global level Top professors and professionals from around the globe taking lectures Better campus These are some of the pros of each I am aware of.
Hope this helps in helping her make the right choice. All the best to her. Last edited by sv97 : 15th March at I'm assuming the query is for the full-time program at these institutes.
I would group the institutes in this sequence. The one year duration of the program could be a pro as well as a con. Sc- Mathematics. Working in Asian Paints for 4 years in sales. My ambition is to get into marketing which is not possible with my current MBA. What will be the opportunity to get into marketing in FMCG companies? Is there any consulting firms recruiting the guys who studied marketing in the so called big institutes?
If so, what are firms taking marketing guys? Which institute is good for a guys like me who has sales experience and wants to move towards senior management roles in marketing? Congrats on working with Asian paints — its a good company. Marketing roles in other companies should also open up for you. This gave me a great insight into the workings of the infrastructure space in a developing country like India, where the lack of infrastructure is a major stumbling block. Moved next onto designing and implementing a plan for expanding the denim division within the cotton textile vertical. The expansion of the denim vertical division played a crucial role in providing a hedge to the textile business against the downturn in the other textile divisions cotton yarn, woven fabrics, etc during the post lehman crisis.
The firm runs 4 B-schools and 1 higher secondary school in India. My idea was to diversify in the higher secondary space by utilizing the franchising model of expansion. The idea for diversification was my brainchild from the start. The financial benefits of the project have already started trickling in with the firm having received over INR 75 as signing up fee.
Coming up with a strategy and then executing it is something I do in my current role as well. As my short term goal I would like to work within the strategy consulting domain with focus on industries such as infrastructure and natural resources in both I will be able to utilize my current skill set and build upon it. The domains you have worked in are quite specialized.
Most top consulting firms in India hire freshers for the typical generalist consulting profile but often lack specialists who can consult for them in specific domains. Firms such as Technopack have made a business out of offering consulting in very specific domains and you should be able to find roles at top consulting firms if you plan on consulting in areas related to your experience.
