They have been aged separately, blended and then aged again. This complex method produces rums that are just as complex. The youngest of the rums in this blend is 8 years old. All of them have been aged in American oak barrels containing bourbon. The nose opens slowly, with a roasted but balanced atmosphere. The nuts are just caramelised, and a little smoke still hovers over them. A light, slightly dusty woody note is also waiting for us, discreetly, in a corner of the cellar. Aeration and time allow this woody note to open up, to reveal a rather greedy, albeit contained, American oak.
The vanilla then reaches out to us, accompanied by some toasted coconut scents. The palate is sweet and roasted, just as the nose suggested.
After going through our distillation process, it is aged for up to eight years in handpicked American oak casks. And when you sip it, you will understand why the Brugals became so famous for our blended rums. Nose: A symphony of natural and beautiful notes: wood, dried fruits, almonds, cocoa, vanilla, orange peel, caramel and molasses.
Palate: An elegant taste that first arrives with hints of vanilla, caramel and touches of honey. It is followed by sweet spices and rich cocoa. Aftertaste: Lingering in the mouth with a peppery finish.
